Google Celebrating 21st Birthday but it is very interesting to know that this period of becoming world’s largest search engine and top ranking website is not the bed of roses. Back in 1998, there was a ray or hope of search engine which was ignited too much over the time and now it is at the apex of time.

Two Stanford Ph.D. students, Sergey Brin and Lawrence (Larry) Page, launched first time in September 1998 almost 21 years ago. Then with the passage of time, too much effort has been put to make it world’s number one search engine. The idea of the name “GOOGLE” is taken from the word “googol”, mathematically 10 raised to the power of 100. They thought of making it very large scale search engine which is not is dream now.

Google initially faced tough competitors like Yahoo and Ask Jeeves, but it soon made its mark in the world of search engines with 63,000 web searches per second. Google literally means to search for something online and it became so popular and widely used that it was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2006.
